ePrescribingGreenway's ePrescribing solution provides physicians the ability to electronically send prescriptions to the patient's preferred pharmacy after confirming the prescription is on the patient's formulary list and electronically process refill request. Patient demographics, allergies and medication history are displayed with each inquiry to provide greater accuracy and efficiency to the prescription filling process.
What is ePrescribing? Our integrated ePrescribing solution gives PrimeSuite providers the ability to submit prescriptions electronically to the patient's preferred pharmacy. Prescriptions can be sent directly to the pharmacy from the point-of-care through PrimeSuite. Within the ePrescribing solution, the provider also has the ability to view and import the patient's medication history as provided by pharmacy benefit management (PBM). The prescription can also be checked against the patient's formulary listing. If a provider needs to access patient medication records remotely, our ePrescribing solution can also be accessed on a supported PDA or via a web browser. When a prescription is generated remotely, the medication is automatically synchronized with the PrimeSuite medication list.
What are the features?
Did you know?Starting January 1, 2009, physicians who prescribe electronically for Medicare patients are eligible for 2% increase on their Medicare reimbursement payment. Who benefits from ePrescribing?Studies have shown that ePrescribing will save physicians and care providers up to three hours a day. Physicians and care providers are able to see FDA safety alerts, the patient's drug history, drug allergies and formulary requirements before drugs are prescribed. This is a proactive way to reduce errors as well as time spent pulling charts and communicating with pharmacies about handwriting inquiries, medication coverage and renewal authorizations.
Patients will have a much lower risk of physical harm due to paper prescription errors. Out-of-pocket costs will decrease with formulary messages. In addition, time spent at the pharmacy will be much less since the pharmacy will have already received the prescription prior to the patient's arrival.
Physicians will also save time by not having to re-enter data for renewal request because they are received electronically and the patient’s chart is automatically updated to reflect the refill. Customer relationships will also improve because prescriptions will be filled faster. What are some problems with paper prescriptions?
