Greenway’s Leadership Team formed more than a decade ago to apply its vision toward creating an integrated physician and provider platform in support of establishing a smarter and more sustainable healthcare system. Greenway leadership has realized the blueprint for improved healthcare delivery as a supportive model for national and international care coordination.

Our team established a dual leadership pathway of internal and external strategies by recognizing that the future of healthcare was tied not only to best practice technology, but also to the shaping of industry and regulatory standards and initiatives that together with corporate initiatives can improve population health.

This understanding has led Greenway’s Leadership Team to hold chair, co-chair, board, and/or advisory positions within multiple industry organizations, such as:

Additionally, Greenway leadership has maintained a strategic advisory capacity with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the Office of Civil Rights (OCR). Greenway has also provided guidance and testimony to Congressional bodies and presidential administrations on more than a dozen occasions since 2005, all on matters of health IT now becoming realized through national EHR incentive, quality reporting and care coordination programs.

Greenway’s Primary Government Affairs Strategy

  • Fostering education in healthcare IT and the impact of Government Affairs on Healthcare Reform
  • Work with the Executive branch and Congress to improve physician fee schedules and reimbursement rates
  • Further state and federal legislation as well as regulation on creating incentives for healthcare IT and electronic health record (EHR) adoption
  • Advise Congressional offices on Health, Healthcare and IT related legislation
  • Advise Congress on Healthcare Reform and America's Healthcare Transformation
  • Advise President’s Administration on Health, Healthcare and IT related regulation including necessary Stark/safe harbor modifications
  • Advise and work with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on the implementation of HITECH Act and ARRA health IT incentives and adoption. Support ongoing certification standards for Meaningful Use Stage 2 and 3 reporting criteria
  • Further standards creation and adoption through the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP)
  • Promote security, privacy and compliance policy advancements through National Governors Association (NGA), Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC) and American Health Information Community (AHIC)
  • Encourage federal leadership to maintain a true, 50/50, public-private collaboration on all HIT Boards created under or by HHS such as AHIC, National eHealth Collaborative, CCHIT, HITSP and HISPC
  • Continue collaboration with the federal HIT Policy Committee on Meaningful Use Stage 2 and 3 requirements as to the evolution of menu-to-core and patient volume expansion criteria on outcomes, patient engagement and bidirectional data exchange toward the merging of Meaningful Use and accountable care models.
