Greenway's PrimeSuite connects information, people, and systems to increase flexibility in a secure environment

Carrollton, Ga., October 14, 2003 – Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., a provider of integrated practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) software solutions for physicians' practices, today announced that its flagship software, PrimeSuite® has received the Microsoft .NET Connected Logo, indicating its support of the Microsoft .NET Framework and use of Web services to integrate and streamline the workflow associated with a practice's clinical, financial, and administrative processes. Receiving the .NET Connected Logo for PrimeSuite is further validation of Greenway's commitment to consistently incorporate and leverage new technologies in pursuit of providing a completely unique solution to the healthcare marketplace and significant value to medical practices.

Microsoft's .NET-connected technology is strategic software for use in development on the Windows platform and provides end users enhanced performance and flexibility within a Web-based architecture. Greenway's .NET-connected solution provides its clients further assurance that their information technology investment in PrimeSuite is protected well into the future. Investing in a software solution based on Microsoft's current and strategic platform protects against the probable technology obsolescence associated with software systems based on past generation or legacy operating platforms. Additionally, incorporation of Microsoft .NET- connected technology allows PrimeSuite users to recognize enhanced system performance and interoperability with external data sources.

Greenway's first initiative for the .NET Framework involved the development of PrimeExchange™. An XML-based, HL7 messaging subsystem of PrimeSuite, PrimeExchange facilitates the bi-directional exchange of patient related information between medical practices and outside parties involved in the provision of patient care. Specifically, the PrimeExchange design will allow care providers to send/receive lab orders/results, prescriptions, diagnostic equipment reports, and Hospital ADT (Admissions, Discharge, and Transfer) from and/or to any PrimeSuite system. Inbound and outbound data communications with most healthcare information systems will be supported by translating the native messaging standard used by the partner's computer system into a common messaging standard that is understood by PrimeSuite. The Microsoft .NET Framework, PrimeSuite, and PrimeExchange are bridging the gap between physicians offices and the rest of the healthcare system.

Greenway has also incorporated the Microsoft .NET Framework into other areas of its solution, including its newly released collections functionality. All of Greenway's development efforts for new functionality are based on the .NET Framework and Greenway continues to work towards incorporation of the .NET Framework in all areas of its software solution.
