Regional Extension Centers

Greenway actively partners with potential and approved regional extension centers (RECs) to provide a health IT solution to facilitate the meaningful use of electronic health records (EHRs) in communities across America. We recognize that better healthcare doesn't just come from the implementation of our EHR solution itself, but through the exchange and use of health information to best impact clinical decisions at the point of care or wherever decisions affecting care are being made.

Our mission to aid primary care providers through this transitional period will improve the quality, efficiency and availability of care for even the smallest, most stretched physician practices, as well as community health centers (CHCs) including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and rural health centers/hospitals. We anticipate our collective efforts will drive these improvements and the ultimate sustainability of a smarter healthcare system.

REC objectives

Regional extension centers are delivering the outreach, education and technical assistance services necessary to meet the objective of assisting primary care providers to improve the quality of care they deliver by attaining/exceeding meaningful use criteria and enabling nationwide health information exchange.

On-site technical assistance is a key service offered and represent a significant portion of an REC's activities. The HITECH Act clearly prioritizes access to this technology by historically underserved and other special-needs populations to achieve a reduction in health disparities. Regional extension centers are expected to work with both priority primary care providers who have not yet adopted EHR systems, and with priority primary care providers who have existing EHRs.

Regional extension centers are supporting at least 100,000 primary care providers through participating non-profit organizations.

A partnership approach

Greenway proudly takes the partnership approach and is committed to the customer's experience. As a regional extension center, you too have the best interest of your community's physicians and practice leaders at the forefront, while needing to sustain a reputable business model.

Accordingly, Greenway has been named a preferred provider of healthcare technology solutions by leading RECs, including:
