<p class="intro">PrimeSUITE’s integrated connectivity and interoperable data exchange capabilities have been core elements of the company’s electronic health record solution since Greenway’s founding more than a decade ago.</p>

<p>In tandem with internal research and development, we’ve understood the importance of taking leadership positions toward industry-wide development of needed data exchange standards to create a national connectivity infrastructure.</p>
<h2>The new CommonWell Health Alliance</h2>
<p><a href="http://www.commonwellalliance.org/"><img class="alignleft wp-image-275" alt="Commonwell Health Alliance: Interoperability for the common good" src="/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/commonwell_graphic_for_interop_pg-520×310.jpg" width="312" height="186" /></a>Greenway is a proud founding member of the <b>CommonWell Health Alliance</b>, an independent, not-for-profit organization launched in March 2013 to transform care delivery by enabling data liquidity across IT systems, settings and episodes of care.</p>

<p>Greenway leadership has an established and continuing commitment to serve on the boards and executive committees of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) and the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), among many others.</p>
<h2>Supporting existing and developing standards</h2>
<p>Throughout the data build and exchange process of translation, protocol configuration, formatting and end-point arrivals, Greenway technology supports CCD/CDA, XDS.b, PIX, PDQ, HL7v2, Direct XDR and custom clinical content needs.</p>
<p>In addition, Greenway is fostering Consolidated CDA (Clinical Document Architecture), an emerging patient data standard that consolidates and accommodates existing CCD/CDA clinical data for the seamless expansion of summary of care record transfer within a single source, as established in the EHR data exchange requirements for meaningful use Stage 2.</p>
<p>Greenway’s approach facilitates interoperability through a multi-level, component-based pathway, enabling scalable deployment based on configuration of end points rather than new connectivity development for each instance. Direct hub-based interoperability is then leveraged to improve performance as additional connections are brought live. This approach maintains cost-containment goals and established data security measures throughout deployment expansion.</p>

<h2>Hospital information system<br />connectivity and alignment</h2>
<p>For a healthcare system that is sustainable and built upon coordinated care, Greenway has advanced collaborative relationships with suppliers of acute-based IT systems for direct interoperability and provider alignment to quickly build rich data for population health management.</p>
<ul>
<li>With <b>Cerner</b>, Greenway is a gold partner within the Cerner Interoperability Certification Program, having established a range of CCD connectivity points throughout a patient’s ambulatory and acute care continuum.</li>
<li>With <b>Epic</b>, Greenway has established a similar direct hub-based interoperability and use case workflow for flexible clinical records built upon queried data also as CCD content.</li>
<li>With <b>RelayHealth</b>, Greenway completed a development agreement providing out-of-the-box, bi-directional connectivity platforms for ambulatory and acute care. The standards-based solution also provides HIE-enabled EHRs at go-live.</li>
</ul>
<h2>HIE milestones and growth</h2>
<p>An equally important aspect of national connectivity is provider linkage to HIEs. Here Greenway has also taken a leadership position, benefiting practices, health systems and their patients/communities through milestones such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>The first practice in the state of Colorado to connect with the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO).</li>
<li>ONC Direct Project customer success in collaboration with NextGen, establishing direct EHR-to-EHR data exchange. The practice using Greenway’s PrimeSUITE also aligned with the Health Information Exchange of New York (HIXNY).</li>
<li>The first practice in Ohio to facilitate live hospital data exchange through the Ohio Health Information Partnership’s CliniSync program.</li>
<li>Customer membership among more than 340 healthcare facilities and more than a dozen health plans comprising the Health Information Network of Arizona (HINAz) coordinated care organization.</li>
<li>Successful clinical messaging within a network of 49 hospitals and more than 19,000 providers through the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE).</li>
</ul>
<h2>ACO, PCMH, meaningful use and more</h2>
<p>Greenway data exchange and quality reporting also meet or exceed the requirements of meaningful use, accountable care, patient-centered medical home (PCMH) and PQRS initiatives, among others. </p>
